The Transparency Dossier

Our Cookie Policy is a promise of clarity.

We use a minimal set of cookies to enhance your experience, never to obscure our work. This page explains exactly what we place on your device, why it’s there, and how you can control it.

A minimalist workspace setup representing clarity and intentional design.
Integrity is our baseline. Every technical decision serves user trust.

What We Set (And Why It Matters)

Cookies are tiny text files that help websites remember your preferences. For a web design studio, they are tools for understanding what works, not for tracking people. Here’s the full inventory.

Essential Cookies

These are strictly necessary for the website to function. They handle core tasks like maintaining your session if you navigate between pages, ensuring security, and remembering basic layout preferences. They cannot be disabled via our controls as their absence would break the site's basic operation.

Example: session_id

Analytics Cookies

We use a single, self-hosted analytics script (not a third-party giant) to gather anonymous data: page visits, scroll depth, and click patterns. This helps us identify which portfolio pieces resonate and how to improve the site's navigation. No IP addresses are stored.

  • Purpose: Improve portfolio presentation
  • Duration: 24 hours

Common Pitfalls

How to Avoid Cookie Confusion

Cookie policies often fail because they are legalistic, not human. Here are the most common mistakes we see, and how we approach them differently.

The "Wall of Text" Trap

Most policies are dense legal prose. This forces users to accept blindly or abandon the site. Our approach is scannable: plain language, clear categories, and immediate answers.

Our Fix: Semantic headings and visual hierarchy.

The "Third-Party Black Box"

Many sites embed dozens of trackers from ad networks and social media platforms, making their policy a performative document. We control our stack.

Our Fix: Only first-party cookies for essential functions.

The "Set & Forget" Mistake

Technology changes. A policy written in 2022 may be irrelevant in 2026. Treating it as a static document is a compliance and trust risk.

Our Fix: This page is version-controlled and reviewed quarterly.

Your Control, Our Respect

You should always have a clear choice. Our cookie consent system is designed to be unobtrusive and informative. It doesn’t trap you in a dark pattern.

Initial Notice: When you first visit, a subtle banner explains our use of essential and analytics cookies. It doesn’t cover your screen.

Granular Choice: You can accept all, reject all, or accept only essential cookies. We respect your choice instantly.

Easy Management: A persistent but subtle link in the footer allows you to revisit and change your settings at any time. The banner does not reappear after you’ve decided.

Compliance Notes

Meeting Legal Standards

GDPR Alignment (EU)

As a Paris-based studio, we design our cookie mechanisms to be GDPR-compliant by default. This means explicit consent for non-essential cookies, clear 'accept' and 'reject' options of equal prominence, and the ability to withdraw consent as easily as it was given.

Legal Basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent is documented and timestamped locally.

ePrivacy Directive

We also respect the ePrivacy Directive, which covers the confidentiality of electronic communications. Our policy covers cookies and similar technologies (e.g., local storage used for security or functionality) and aims for the strictest interpretation of 'necessary'.

  • • No silent tracking pixels
  • • No hidden data collection
  • • Transparent data usage for analytics

Our Cookie Policy is part of our design ethos.

Just as we craft clean, intuitive interfaces, we treat user data with the same care. Clarity in code, clarity in communication.
